DIY Fabric Wreath Tutorial

I made a ACU (army uniform) Fabric wreath. For this Project here is the list of materials you’ll need :

A LOT of cut up fabric 1×1 or 2×2 ( I just cut small squares and rectangles no need to be precise.

Styrofoam wreath shape

scissors

pen or something sturdy with a point

Ribbon or string (to hang it)

Other accessories you may like (I used 2 army name tags)

Hot Glue

LETS GET STARTED

Here’s my pile of non precised cut up fabric

Then all you need to do is use your pen, put it in the center of a piece of fabric and push into the Styrofoam wreath form. Repeat all the way around. I like to do the inner circle first using the small pieces of fabric. How close together you do it and how big the fabric is, all depends on how you want it to look in the end.

DON’T WORRY ACCIDENTS CAN HAPPEN. I think this happens to me every time I make one of this. I get excited and push to hard or put the pieces to close together. When that happens the Styrofoam splits. Don’t stress or get discouraged. Just heat up that hot glue gun and glue it back together, make sure to hold it for a bit to let it dry, then continue with your wreath.

Like I said, I prefer to do the inner circle first then continue all the way around

This is a very easy project, but takes time and patients! lol

I used some NYG ribbon to hang it up. Then accessorized with LOPEZ and US ARMY name tapes. Attached using hot glue!

As usually I love feedback. Let me know what you think of my tutorials and what else you would like to see. I will answer all questions just ask away. Thanks for reading.

  1. nice! I was actually recently wondering how the wreaths were made

  2. Extremely easy right?! Thanks. I’m still trying to get the hang of it. Found a theme I like… then realized I had to pay for it hahaha!

  3. Hi, Love the wreath, i was wondering how many uniforms it took to make one wreath? Did you use the shirt and pants or just shirt?

    • Thank you! How many uniforms you use all depends on how you want it to look in the end. I used 2 tops size Med. Reg. ( I find the tops easier to cut up) If you need any other help just let me know!

  4. Omg! This is so adorable! Now I don’t have to pay $60 for one! Thanks! šŸ™‚

  5. Did you do the back side of the wreath? Hobby lobby lady was telling me to wrap the foam so you font see the green. So I bought yellow ribbon to wrap it with. Also how close you put the squares together?

    • I did not use the backside of the foam. Not sure how wrapping it would work, you could try painting it before you make the wreath that way it’s not white. Or cut the wreath in half that way it lays flat and you don’t see the back anyways.

  6. I used Elmer’s glue, I made a thin line and then poked in the pieces of material. Didn’t have to worry about finding the glue gun or continuously heating the glue. šŸ™‚
